Music

I'm a guitarist, that's why my music taste is all about guitar-driven stuff. Thus, I like rock music best, in particular all grades of hard rock: from speed and power metal to progressive rock, from melodic rock to radio-friendly AOR. I also dig guitar heroes and shredders, but prefer real band albums over pure instrumental recordings.

Although my CD list mostly features the style described above, I think one should always try to stay open-minded and accessible for other music genres. This is one of the reasons why -- in total contrast to the main direction of my taste -- I play guitar in a funk/soul/disco band called FUNKY SITE where I stick to rhythm playing and where my "hard side" does not shine through. Okay, once in a while there's a short solo where I throw in a little hint of shredding but I have to keep it down to a minimum, otherwise my bandmates would kill me.
I also have or had gigs with

a jazz big band,
a semi-professional musical production,
some cover bands and also original rock bands,
guitar duos and solo performances,
different classical ensembles, pure guitar groups as well as heterogeneous groups,
accompaniment for vocalists and instrumentalists,
accompaniment for choirs
and even more projects.

I try to keep up my flexibility without concentrating too much on one particular niche.
